Alan L. Grier

Alan L. Grier, 84, of Belle Vernon, Washington Twp. formerly of Elyria, Ohio, passed away after a lengthy illness on Friday, April 2, 2021 at Mon Valley Hospital.  Born August 26, 1936 in N. Charleroi, PA he was the son of the late Otto and Catherine Ferguson Grier.  Mr. Grier was a retired foundry worker from Combustion Engineering, was Catholic by faith and was a lifelong fireman first in Charleroi, PA and later in Elyria, OH.  Al was a giving and caring person with many friends.

He is survived by his only brother Warren C. Grier of Belle Vernon, PA and several extended family members.  He is preceded in death by his wife Gertrude Grier in 1972 and then by his longtime companion Judy Scott in 2018 with whom he resided with in Elyria.

Visitation will be held Tuesday from 3-5 pm at the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations LLC, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon 724-929-6183 followed by funeral services at 5:00 PM in the Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Marton of the HOPE Center officiating.  Interment will take place in Sacred Heart Cemetery.  In accordance with state mandates masks MUST be worn and social distancing must be maintained.
