Catherine M. Zebula

Catherine ‘Kay’ Semich Zebula, 90, of Belle Vernon, passed away Tuesday, December 17, 2024 peacefully at her home. Born May 4, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Mildred Vitko Semich. A lifelong resident of Fairhope, Kay was a parishioner of St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church, Monessen and a devoted member of the Ladies Guild.

She was a dedicated homemaker and a loving wife, mother, grandmother and aunt who cherished her family and many great friends and neighbors, who took loving care of her. She enjoyed her role as the culinary lead for many functions at St. Mary’s and loved to teach others the art of cooking and baking. Kay always had a smile, enjoyed a good laugh and was gifted with a kind, charitable heart.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Robert J. Zebula; five brothers, Joseph, George, Stanley, Mitchell and Ellis Semich; and three sisters, Sophia Bauer, Stella Guydan and Dorothy Semich. 

She is survived by a daughter Bobbi Kay Lucas and her husband Brian of Horseshoe Bay, TX; a son Charles Zebula and his wife Mary of Dublin, OH; three grandchildren Zachary Zebula of Columbus, OH, Joshua (Allison) Zebula of Broomall, PA, Abigail Zebula of Dublin, OH; and many loving nieces and nephews. 

Visitation will be held Friday from 10-11 AM at St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church, Monessen. Rosary led by St. Mary’s Ladies Guild will begin at 11 AM followed by Divine Liturgy with the Rev. Stephen J. Wahal as celebrant. Kay’s Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations LLC, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon 724-929-6183. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to in Kay’s memory to St. Mary Church, 125 McKee Avenue, Monessen, PA, 15062.
