Christy S. Runfola

Christy S. Runfola, 91, of Belle Vernon, Rostraver Twp., passed away Saturday, December 24, 2022 at his home.  Born September 19, 1931 in Monessen, PA he was the son of the late Frank and Mammie Parnella Runfola.  A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon, Mr. Runfola was a member of St. Sebastian RC Church, Belle Vernon.  Christy was retired from Whg-Pgh Steel, Allenport Plant, where he worked as a Mill Wright.  He was a veteran of Korean Conflict where he served in the US Air Force and was a member of the Belle Vernon American Legion Post 659.

He is survived by son Christy M. Runfola of N. Charleroi, three daughters & two sons in law Mary & David Smith of Columbus, NJ, Barbara Ann & Jim Strong of Akron, OH, Teresa Jean Runfola of Donora, brother Thomas Runfola of Sarasota, FL, sister Catherine Maiolini of Rostraver Twp., five grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his sister Josephine Novicki.

Visitation will be held Wednesday from 9-11:00 AM followed by prayer service at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Michael J. Crookston as celebrant in the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations LLC, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon 724-929-6183.  Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery.  The Family suggests memorial contributions be made in memory of Christy Runfola to Center in the Woods, California, PA.
