Donald Alvin Reed

Donald Alvin Reed, 84, of North Belle Vernon, passed away Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loving family.  Born March 31, 1936 in Monessen, he was the son of the late Paul Reed Sr. and Lenora Frazier Reed.  A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon area, Mr. Reed was Methodist by faith and was a veteran having served in the US Army.  Donald was retired from US Steel, South Side Plant, where he worked as a Computer Technician. He was a semi-professional roller skater in his younger years, competing and judging competitions.  Donald also enjoyed working on cars and working in his yard cutting grass.

He is survived by his wife Julia Ann Alton Reed to whom he was married 55 years; four children Donell Leopold & husband Dr. Gary Leopold of Wichita, Kansas, Raymond Reed of North Belle Vernon, Rolanda Reed of Belle Vernon, Sharen Ray of Seattle, Washington; five grandchildren Ashley, Lucy, Axel, Samuel, Lexa and a brother Daryl Reed of Belle Vernon.  He is preceded in death by a Brother Paul Reed Jr. and a sister Betty McCleary.

Visitation will be held Friday, Dec. 11th from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations LLC, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon 724-929-6183.  Funeral services will be held Saturday at the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations LLC at 10:00 AM with the Rev. Jack Washabaugh officiating.  Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
