George T. Gerhold Sr.

George T. Gerhold Sr., 62, of Belle Vernon, Rostraver Twp., previously of North Carolina, passed away Sunday, August 20, 2023 at VA Hospital, Oakland, Pittsburgh.  Born October 11, 1960 in Teaneck, NJ, he was the son of Albert E. Gerhold Sr. who survives and resides in North Carolina and the late Sandra Ullrich Gerhold.  A resident of Rostraver Twp., for the past three years, Mr. Gerhold was Protestant by birth and later converted to Catholicism.   George served in the US Coast Guard and was a retired corrections officer from the former Newport News VA City Farm.  He was a member of Rostraver #1 Station 31 Webster, enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family at family dinners, cookouts, or the evening campfire.

He is survived by his wife Carol Teta Gerhold to whom he was married to for 39 years, five children Laurinda Gerhold, Edna Kohler of Monessen, George T. Gerhold Jr. of Rostraver Twp., Thomas Gerhold of Coon Rapids, MN, Matthew Gerhold of Rostraver Twp., brother Albert Gerhold Jr., four sisters Patricia Hoffman, Cindy Dubis, Christine Galoppa, Jennifer Gulick, and 14 grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by his brother David Gerhold and a granddaughter.

A Memorial Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 5 from 5-6:30 PM followed by memorial service at 6:30 PM with Pastor Jeff Smith  Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations LLC, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon 724-929-6183.
