John Joseph Leputa, 97, of Donora, passed away Friday, December 30, 2022 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh. Born December 27, 1925 in N. Charleroi, he was the son of the late George and Helen Wojtowicz Leputa. A lifelong resident of Donora, Mr. Leputa was a member of St. Sebastian R.C. Church, was a veteran of WW II having served in the US Navy, owned and operated numerous businesses in Donora, was a lifelong Steelers fan and longtime season ticket holder, was an avid reader and most of all enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife Mildred Svercek Leputa to whom he was married 67 years; son & daughter in law Joseph John & Terri (Matthews) Leputa of Dayton, OH; two grandchildren Kelle Leputa and Joseph Leputa both of Dayton. He is preceded in death by two brothers Chester Leputa, Joseph Leputa and three sisters Mary Tomich, Cecelia Tegi and Louise Dutko.
Relatives and friends will gather directly at St. Sebastian RC Church on Friday, January 6 for funeral mass at 9:30 AM with the Rev. Michael J. Crookston as celebrant.
