Michele 'Mickie' (Baron) Cope

Michele ‘Mickie’ Baron Cope, 71, of Belle Vernon, passed away Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at Mon Valley Care Center, Carroll Twp.  Born May 20, 1949 in N. Charleroi, she was the daughter of the late Michael J. and Mary D. Talpas Baron. Mickie attended Most Holy Name of Jesus Parochial school and graduated from Mon Valley Catholic High School Class of 1967, was a lifelong resident of Belle Vernon, and member of St. Sebastian RC Church where she had served as extraordinary minister, lector and was the parish secretary until her retirement in 2014 after 32 years of service.  She was also member of FCSLA and Slovak Catholic Sokols Club.

She is survived by her children Dan Cope & wife Nicole of Rostraver Twp., Christie Cope Thompson and fiancé Rick Nagel of Rostraver Twp., grandchildren Aiden Thompson and Halley Cope, daughter in law Kimberly Cope of North Belle Vernon and her children and grandchildren, sister & brother-in-law Jeri & James Roman of Monongahela, aunt Cecilia Kubik of North Versailles, several nieces, nephews and many beloved cousins.  She is preceded in death by her son Neil B. Cope (7/16/2019) and her sister Carol Ann Baron (11/4/2017).

Visitation will be held Friday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations LLC, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon 724-929-6183.  Funeral services will be held Saturday at the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations LLC at 10:30 AM with the Rev. William Berkey officiating.  The family would also wish to extend special thanks to the nurses and staff of the 2nd floor at Mon Valley Care Center and the OSPTA Hospice Staff for all of their love and care given to Mom.  In accordance with state mandates masks MUST be worn and social distancing must be maintained.
