Mildred 'Sis' (Maisano) Bethem

Mildred ‘Sis’ Maisano Bethem, 93, of Monongahela, passed away Tuesday, August 17, 2021.  Born May 14, 1928 in Monessen, she was the daughter of the late John and Louise Dominic Maisano.  A resident of Belle Vernon for most of her married life, Sis was retired from Center One Video, Monessen.  Her devotion was to her husband, Ron who passed in 2009 and her family and friends, whom she loved to entertain with an overabundance of food.  Her love of dancing, music and exercising at the Mon Valley YMCA for 17 years kept her young.  Sis was a member of St. Sebastian RC Church for 58 years.

Sis is survived by her son Ron Bethem & wife Dayna; daughter Peggy Herforth & husband Patrick; sister & brother in law Marlene & James Johnston; sisters in law Ann Maisano, Connie Bethem; grandchildren Jill & Jim Urban, Ivy & Christian Godoy, Alder Herforth, Lee Bethem & Aaron Uchlevich, Jacob Bethem, Kerrie & Jason Mirabella; great grandchildren Tim and Catie Urban, Kael and Willow Herforth, Sioux Marchisio; best and devoted friends Elaine Smith and Eleanor Duwall and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her siblings Mary Sciacca, Margaret Perry, Michael Maisano, Eugene Maisano, Lena Maisano, Virginia Maisano and Anthony Maisano.

Visitation will be held Thursday from 4-8 pm at the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations LLC, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon 724-929-6183.  Prayers of Transfer will be held Friday at 9:30 am in the funeral home followed by funeral mass at 10:00 am at St. Sebastian R.C. Church with the Rev. Michael J. Crookston as celebrant.  Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made in memory of Mildred Bethem to Mon Valley YMCA, Carroll Twp.
