Nancy J. Pivarnik

Nancy Jane Goodwin-Pivarnik, 81, of Perryopolis, passed away peacefully Monday, September 16, 2024, after bravely fighting pneumonia at AHN Jefferson Hospital, Jefferson Hills. Born April 3, 1943 in Connellsville, PA she was the youngest of seven to the late Charles R. and Margaret Opal Shultz Goodwin. A lifelong resident of Dawson and Perryopolis area, Mrs. Pivarnik was a member of St. John the Baptist RC Church, Perryopolis. 

She worked as a dedicated Walmart associate for nearly 30 years, where she was known for her strong work ethic and even stronger personality. Outside of work, she had a love for flowers, Keystone Bakery cream sticks, and was also famous in her family for her delicious homemade fudge, though she only made it when the weather was just right. 

Despite the many challenges and losses in her life, Nancy remained tough, resilient, and fiercely protective of her family. She showed her love not with softness, but with a strength that carried those she cared for through hard times.

Nancy is survived by her devoted daughter Ricki Moody of Fairhope, sister Norma, beloved granddaughter and grandson Jessica & Matthew Lauman, her loyal furry companion Bud, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Richard A. Pivarnik, son in law Dan Moody, and five siblings Junior, Jess, Robert, Connie, and Harriott. 

Visitation will be held Wednesday from 3-7 pm at the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations LLC, Family Owned and Operated, 191 Liberty St. Perryopolis, PA 724-736-2515. Funeral services will be held Thursday at the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations LLC at 10:00 AM with the Rev. Rodolfo Meija of St. John the Baptist Church officiating. Interment will take place in St. John The Baptist RC Cemetery.
