Paul 'Doug' Kalakewich

April 19, 1951 — March 14, 2016

Paul "Doug" Kalakewich, 64, of Belle Vernon, passed away peacefully Monday, March 14, 2016 at 8:21 pm at Mon Valley Hospital with his family by his side.  Born April 19, 1951 in N. Charleroi, PA he was the son of the late John and Mary Catherine Sullenberger Kalakewich.   A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon, Mr. Kalakewich was protestant by faith.  He will be sadly missed and was loved by all of his family.  He was always the life of the party.  Doug worked at the former Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel and retired from the Port Authority of Allegheny Co., West Mifflin Branch.  He was a veteran of the US Navy serving during the Vietnam War.  Doug was a singer and sang with the First Ave. Band all over the Mon Valley.  He was a lifetime member of the East Belle Vernon Athletic Club.

He is survived by his loving wife and friend Earline McCreary Kalakewich to whom he was married 42 years, his sons who were his pride and joy Ryan Douglas & Nicole Kalakewich of Mt. Washington,  Bret Michael Kalakewich of Belle Vernon, Cody Garrett Kalakewich of Belle Vernon; his granddaughter and princess Londyn Nouvelle Kalakewich who brough so much love and joy in his life; his friend Craig Baker of Stockdale who was like a brother; Ralph Frank Kalakewich of West Palm Beach, Florida and a sister Kathy Lynn Sukel of Florida.  He is preceded in death by two brothers John 'Butch' Kalakewich, James Daryl Kalakewich and a sister Mary Eileen Kalakewich.

Visitation will be held Thursday from 2-4 & 6-7:30 pm at the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon 724-929-6183 followed by funeral services at 7:30 PM with the Rev. Wayne R. Boring of First Christian Church of Fayette City officiating.  At the request of Doug he asked in lieu of flowers please consider being an organ donor, the greatest gift to a family.
