Raymond S. Ambrose

Raymond S. Ambrose, 95, of Belle Vernon, Washington Twp., passed away Monday, April 26, 2021 at Country Care Manor.  Born May 13, 1925 in North Belle Vernon, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Mary Naccarato Ambrose.  A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon, Mr. Ambrose was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ, Roscoe where he was a devote member of his church and was retired from Whg-Pgh Steel Allenport, where he worked as an electrician.  He was a veteran of World War II where he served in the US Army, was a member of the VFW Belle Vernon Post 699, Belle Vernon American Legion Post 659 and was a member and former Board member at the Center on the Hill. Ray loved western movies, horses and always had a passion for wanting to be a cowboy.  Ray also loved to tinker and had a knack of fixing anything for anyone.

He is survived by his wife Vilma ‘Sandy” Sands Ambrose to whom he was married 68 years; son Raymond L. Ambrose of Belle Vernon, two daughters & sons in law Darla & Darryl Sickels of Fairhope, Mary & Paul Bednarczyk of Washington Twp.; six grandchildren Raymond P. Ambrose & Dean Farine, Samuel M. Ambrose & Elizabeth Godshall, Matthew Sickels & Fiancé Corin, Joshua Sickels, Daniel Bednarczyk, Erica Morton & husband Austin and a great granddaughter Lily Sickels.  He is preceded in death by four brothers Charles, Anthony,  Albert Ambrose; three sisters Louise Welch, Florence Comadena, Virginia Comadena and a daughter in law Kathleen Ambrose.

Visitation will be held Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations LLC, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon 724-929-6183.  Funeral services will be held Friday at the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations LLC at 10:00 AM with the Elder James Abbott officiating.  Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery.  In accordance with state mandates masks MUST be worn and social distancing must be maintained.
