Rose V. Vargo Hartley, 96, of Belle Vernon, died at 8:21 a.m. Wednesday, February 10, 2016, in LaFayette Manor, Uniontown.
Born January 15, 1920, in Mt. Pleasant, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Catherine Harenchar Vargo.
A resident of Belle Vernon, Mrs. Hartley was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church and a homemaker.
She is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Dolores and Jerry Glover of Brownsville, Linda Collins of Belle Vernon and Rosemarie and Dennis Richie of Monessen; two brothers, Steve Vargo of Washington and Fred Vargo of Kokomo, Ind.; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Deceased are her husband, John L. Hartley; brothers Paul Vargo, Mike Vargo, George Vargo, Andrew Vargo, John Vargo and Richard Vargo; and four sisters, Katie Smalley, Helen Pencek, Mary Hayges and Marge Potisek.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations, family owned and operated, 626 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon, 724-929-6183. A prayer service will be held at 9 a.m. Friday, February 12, in the funeral home, followed by funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Roger A. Statnick, pastor as celebrant.
Members of St. Sebastian Parish will pray the rosary for the departed soul of Mrs. Hartley at 3 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
Interment will take place in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
