Sam G. Vidnjvich

Sam G. Vidnjvich, 84, of Perryopolis, passed away Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at Washington Hospital, Washington. Born August 16, 1940 in Whitsett, PA he was the son of the late George and Dorothy Bogunovich Vidnjvich. A lifelong resident of Perryopolis, Mr. Vidnjvich was a member of Perryopolis United Methodist Church, served in the US Army where he worked in communications during his service. He was a past member of Perryopolis VFW Gold Star post 7023, member of Perryopolis Sokols, Star Junction Fish & Game, Perryopolis Sons & Daughters of Italy, and the former Perryopolis Moose. Sam loved playing his guitar with his buddies, golfing and spending time with his grandchildren and great granddaughter. He was affectionately known as the "Candy Man" by many in the community, as he was always walking and greeting others with candy.

He is survived by his wife Carole Johnson Vidnjvich to whom he was married to for 47 years, four children Frank Semans of Perryopolis, Sondra Clem of Perryopolis, David Semans of Perryopolis, Kristi & Darris Marteny of Perryopolis, sister Mary Alfono, sister in law Ann Vidnjvich, five grandchildren Colleen Lloyd, Nicole Matthews, Nyoah (Brooke) Marteny, Nytasha ‘Babygirl’ (Travis) Marteny, Brandon Semans, great granddaughter Sienna Lloyd, great granddaughter on the way Vivian Opal, many nieces & nephews, including special nephew David Vidnjvich. He is preceded in death by his brothers Mike, Donald, George “Pete”, Nick, Ron, Eli, sister Dorothy, son in law Cary Clem, and grandson in law Gareth Lloyd. 

Visitation will be held Sunday from 2-5:30 pm followed by services at 5:30 pm with Pastor Chuck Jack officiating at the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations LLC, Family Owned and Operated, 191 Liberty St. Perryopolis, PA 724-736-2515.
