Stanley R. Koper, 70, of Monessen, formerly of North Belle Vernon, died Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at Mon Valley Hospital, Carroll Twp. Born January 9, 1947 in Schenectady, NY he was the son of the late Stanley and Gemma DeDeppo Koper. A resident of Monessen for the past 15 years, Mr. Koper was a retired instructor from Triangle Technical School, Greensburg. Stanley coached baseball with the Rostraver Pony League, Belle Vernon Colt League, West Newton Legion baseball league, Monessen Pony League and was an assistant coach at Yough High School. Stanley was also an avid Steeler and Pirate fan.
He is survived by his wife Lorraine Monticelli Koper to whom he was married 49 years; three sons & daughters in law Donald & Mary Koper of Reading, Scott & Johanna Koper of Scottdale, David & AnnMarie Koper of Monessen; eight grandchildren Kerryann, William, Anthony, Emma, Ethan, Bailey, Chloe & Carter Koper; brother & sister in law Bruce & Becky Koper of Irwin and a sister Danelle Rapachietta of Belle Vernon.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon 724-929-6183. Funeral services will be held Friday at the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations at 10:00 AM with Pastor Derek Platt officiating. Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
