Violet M. Tofts Kobal, 95, of Belle Vernon, Washington twp., died Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at 2:15 pm at Mon Valley Hospital. Born August 15, 1922 in Halstead, England she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Jessie Draper Tofts. A resident of Belle Vernon for the past 29 years, Mrs. Kobal was a member of Holy Trinity Russian Orthodox Church, Charleroi. Affectionately known to everyone as 'Granny', Violet enjoyed cooking, baking, crocheting, crossword puzzles and gardening.
She is survived by a son & daughter in law John K. & Ruth Kobal of Washington Twp., two daughters & sons in law Patricia & A. Roy Anderson of Washington Twp., Mary Ann & Philip Turlik of Carroll Twp.; two grandchildren Roy Anderson & wife Brandy, Angela Kobal; two great grandchildren Cody John Anderson and Brittany Robertson and numerous nieces & nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband John Kobal Jr. (11/9/1994); three brothers Frederick Tofts, Jack Tofts, Ken Tofts and a sister Flo Devereux.
Visitation will be held Friday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon 724-929-6183. Relatives and friends will gather directly at Holy Resurrection orthodox Church, Belle Vernon on Saturday December 2, 2017 for 9:30 AM funeral services with the Rev. Stephan Gresh of Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church officiating. Interment will take place in Monongahela Cemetery.
