Virginia Caputo Swantek, 89, of Belle Vernon, Washington Twp., died Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at Thorpe's Personal Care, N. Charleroi. Born October 23, 1928 in N. Charleroi, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Alessio Caputo. A resident of Washington Twp., Mrs. Swantek was a member of St. Sebastian R.C. Church, Belle Vernon and was a retired telephone operator from Former Bell Telephone Co., Belle Vernon. Virginia was a member of the former Catholic Daughters of the Americas B.V. Court 1522, Anita Garibaldi of Belle Vernon, Golden Age Assembly and Fayette City Golden Agers.
She is survived by her husband Ralph Swantek to whom she was married 64 years; a son & daughter in law Ronald & Joanne Swantek of Coraopolis; daughter and son in law Maryann Swantek and husband Antonio Ubaldo of New Jersey; two grandchildren Michael Swantek, Christina Swantek and a sister Catherine Misher of Belle Vernon and numerous nephews. She is preceded in death a brother Joseph Caputo; sister Rose Caputo Teano and two sisters in infancy.
Visitation will be held Saturday from 5-8 pm at the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon 724-929-6183. THERE WILL BE NO VISITATION EASTER SUNDAY. Prayers of Transfer will be held Monday at 9:00 am in the funeral home followed by funeral mass at 9:30 am at St. Sebastian R.C. Church with the Rev. Francisco R. Gan Jr. Pastor as celebrant
Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Family requests memorial contributions be made in memory of Virginia to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital www.stjude.org or to Thorpe’s Personal Care 400 Fourth St. Charleroi, PA 15022.
