William K. Morrison

June 8, 1945 — March 20, 2025

It is with profound sadness that the family of William K. Morrison, 79, of Perry Township, announces his passing. William passed away Thursday, March 20, 2025, at UPMC McKeesport with his family by his side. Born June 8, 1945, in Galena, KS, he was the son of the late William K. and Virginia LaTurner Morrison.

A graduate of Frazier High School and lifelong resident of Whitsett, William served in the US Army National Guard, and was the epitome of what it means to be blue-collar. A retired pipe fitter, he also spent more than a decade employed at US Steel Clairton Works and also worked at the Hays Army Ammunition Plant during the Vietnam War.

As a nature lover, avid gardener, and philanthropist, William enjoyed spending his retirement in his backyard tending to his flowers and the countless hummingbirds that have been perennially returning to his property for decades. He also cherished spending time with his family, traveling across the western US exploring our National Parks, and often gave what he could to various charities and nonprofits that supported our veterans and wildlife conservation efforts.

He is survived by his daughter, Angela L. Morrison & fiancé, Jim Baker of Belle Vernon, his 2 sons, William Joel and Ryan D. Morrison, and his former wife, Doris Rae Bach Morrison, all of Perryopolis, his grandchildren, Lauren, Haley, and Lindsey Somers, his brother, Joseph Morrison and sister-in-law Darlene Vargo Morrison, of Perryopolis, his sister and brother-in-law, Beverly and Edward Muccioli, of Perry Township, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and relatives that still live in and around Galena, KS. Along with his parents, William was preceded in death by his brother, John McCumber, his sister, Betty Mae Strothers, and granddaughter, Olivia Jordan Morrison-Somers.

A celebration of life will be held this Saturday, March 29, at Naomi Club, Fayette City, PA, from 2-4 PM. His family humbly requests donations be made to any charity of choice in his honor. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Parzynski Funeral Homes and Cremations, LLC, 191 Liberty St., Perryopolis. 724-736-2515.
