John S. Bednar

John S. Bednar, 78, of Perryopolis, passed away Friday, November 15, 2019 at his home.  Born September 1, 1941 in Connellsville, he was the son of the late George and Mary Basarab Bednar.  A lifelong resident of Perryopolis, Mr. Bednar was a member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church.  Mr. Bednar was a retired chemist for BCR Research and later from Newell Chemical.  He served in the US Army Reserves, was an avid Pittsburgh Sports Fan, enjoyed spending time with his grandsons and family and he was always willing to help anyone in need.

He is survived by, daughter Tara & Mark Jurczak of Belle Vernon, brother & sister in law Charles & Adele Bednar of New Jersey, grandchildren Bethany Fraley & husband Scott, Seth Jurczak, Samuel Jurczak, great grandchildren Harper and Sophie Fraley and numerous nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his brothers George and David Bednar.

Visitation will be held Monday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations, Family Owned and Operated, 191 Liberty St. Perryopolis, PA 724-736-2515. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations at 10 AM with the Rev.
